Zimbabwe is home to a diverse array of wildlife and offers some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in Southern Africa. Two of the best places to experience this wildlife are Hwange National Park and Mana Pools National Park.
Hwange National Park, located in the northwest of Zimbabwe, is the country’s largest national park and covers an area of over 14,600 square kilometers. The park is home to over 100 mammal species, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and wild dogs. It also has over 400 bird species, making it a birdwatcher’s paradise. The park is easily accessible from Victoria Falls, which is just a two-hour drive away.
